Joseph Gocke, NCEMSF West Assistant Regional Coordinator, grew up in a family of first responders serving Orange, Los Angeles, Santa Barbara, and Ventura Counties. Joseph began his EMS career as an Ocean Lifeguard for Port San Luis Harbor District in San Luis Obispo, California. While attending UCLA, he worked for UCLA EMS for approximately two and a half years, and spent a majority of his time as a Field Training Officer(FTO) before graduating in 2023. Currently, Joseph is an Ocean Lifeguard for the Los Angeles County Fire Department where he works operations mostly in Venice, but will be on special assignment in the Training Division from September to June.
