Sarah Torzone, NCEMSF Southeast Regional Coordinator, became involved in EMS at the Arundel Volunteer Fire Department in Maryland prior to attending college at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill where she received a BS in Biology and double-majored in Medical Anthropology. Sarah served as the founding Chief of EMS at UNC Campus EMS from 2021-2023 and has been working as a paramedic in Chatham County North Carolina since 2022. During her tenure as Chief, UNC EMS was awarded HEARTSafe Campus status and spearheaded collegiate EMS involvement in college vaccine administration efforts.
