Conference 2023 Pre-Conference Workshops
NCEMSF is pleased to offer Pre-Conference Workshops as part of the 30th Annual Conference. These workshops offer a chance to go in-depth on a specific topic, and will be held on Friday, February 24th. Registration will be limited to those who are also attending the full Conference. Links to register for a Pre-Conference Workshop will show once you have registered for the Conference and your payment has been processed. The following course descriptions and prices are provided for your planning purposes, but are subject to change. Additional courses may be listed at a later date.
Mass Gathering Medical Preparedness
Friday, February 24th, from 12:30 pm to 4:00 pm
Mass gathering events on college campuses can take many forms - from organized collegiete sporting events, to concerts, festivals, community gatherings, and unorganized spontanious gatherings. Regardless of type, these events often test the resources and reslinency of the campus, community, and region. This pre-conference session will examine how to coordinate medical preparedness and response through the lense of campus-based EMS organizations, public health, emergency management, and event management. Principles will be applied to real-world case studies from events such as NASCAR races, marathons, and EDM concert festivals, and more.
Additional CE will be provided for this course.

Medical Helicopter and Airport Tour
Friday, February 24th, from 12:00 pm to 4:00 pm (approximate)
This pre-conference course will allow attendees to see two sides of emergency response that most college campuses never experience. Participants will be taken by bus from the hotel to an area airport, where they will visit the headquarters of Boston MedFlight, tour an aircraft, and speak with the flight medics, flight crew, and communications center staff. They will also tour a MassPort airport rescue firefighting station and learn more about this specialized branch of the fire service. Attendees will be notified of the meeting point and departure time for the bus and must be there on time or else they will not be able to participate.
