The NCEMSF website distinguishes between accounts for people, called Personal Accounts, and accounts for groups, called Institutional Accounts.
Personal Accounts are intended for individual people to interact with the site in their personal capacity. Tasks performed using a Personal Account include purchasing an individual Foundation membership, registering for the Conference, requesting a Startup Packet, and submitting abstracts for the annual conferences. Contact information used for a Personal Account should be for that individual.
Institutional Accounts are used by a group's leadership to perform specific tasks on behalf of their squad. These tasks include purchasing Tokens to allow for group Conference payment, submitting awards on behalf of the organization, renewing a squad's paid Institutional membership, and creating or updating the squad's profile in the Institutional Database. These tasks are specifically limited to the group's Institutional Account to ensure that there is continuity as individual members enter or leave a group's leadership and to provide a common reference point for the group within NCEMSF's IT systems. Because of this, each squad is limited to a single Institutional Account, and any new Institutional Accounts will require approval by a member of our IT or Membership staff. NCEMSF recommends that the email address selected for a group's Institutional Account be something that reaches all members of squad leadership (a shared inbox, a distribution list that goes to leadership, etc.). This ensures that communications sent to the account will reach all of the group's leaders, and it facilitates account recovery if the account credentials are not passed down during leadership changeovers.
