Thank you for your interest in starting an EMS program at your college. Since NCEMSF's inception, the Foundation has been assisting with the formation of new organizations on campuses across the country. You are about to embark on a difficult, yet rewarding journey - one that promises both frustration and tremendous satisfaction. When you ask your university administration to entrust you with your campus’ health and safety, as you can imagine, many administrators may initially be skeptical. However, from our experiences, we at the National Collegiate Emergency Medical Services Foundation (NCEMSF) know that with the right approach, the advantages of collegiate EMS will ultimately become evident to all involved.
It is best to contact NCEMSF early in the startup process. We can provide strategies for establishing positive communication with the right representatives in your school's administration and the surrounding EMS community. From our detailed database we can provide you with organization profiles of established campus EMS groups at benchmark schools. And there's no need to reinvent the wheel -- we can provide example SOPs, constitutions, and by-laws for you to use as starting points in writing your own group's documents. To help guide you through the process of starting a collegiate EMS organization we have prepared a startup packet that is available (see below). When contacting us about startup, please provide your name, your college’s name, and a general description of where you are in the startup process.

- To request a copy of our Startup Packet (available in versions tailored towards current students and college/university administrators), you must be logged into our website with a Personal Website Account. If you do not yet have an account, please create one. By linking your Startup Packet Request with a Personal Account, we can ensure that we have good contact information for you. This also allows more than one interested individual from a given school to complete the form, rather than being tied to a single organizational account.
